The Court of Annwyfn
Flidais the Fairy Queen

Pwyll, a medieval-Irish serf, comes upon a distressed man while hunting in the deep woods. After Pwyll saves him, the man reveals himself to be Arawn, the king of the aes sidhe (fairies), who was on a short and unfortunate visit to the human world. Arawn promises Pwyll one wish in gratitude for saving him; a highly skeptical Pwyll sarcastically asks for the wealth and power of a king like Arawn. His wish is immediately granted as he is spirited away to the fairy realm, where Pwyll discovers he has been glamored to look and sound like Arawn. Pwyll immediately attempts to return to the human world, but is stopped by Arawn, who is offended that Pwyll is rejecting his gift (and was also hoping for a much needed vacation away from his duties). Arawn refuses to undo the spell, but instead promises to return Pwyll to the human world if Pwyll, in the guise of Arawn, finds a way to end the brewing conflict with another royal fairy named Hafgan. What follows is Pwyll’s floundering attempt to rule a fairy court.
